DIZ-ZY my head is spin-ning...

Ahh, Summer School 1 is over and the children did not die. Kudos to me! Notes:

1) Little Sota (aka Sal) in the Jellyfish class had a new baby sister born on Friday morning! Yayay! Very nice family. The mother is a very tough lady. Get this: with a week to go before childbirth, she takes a massively difficult exam for her accounting registration. I put a big sign up on the door at work and made a point of telling everyone. Maybe they will name her after me :)

2) Karate is having this week off, as is most of the country. It's the Festival of the Dead!

3) Spent today, my first of 3 days off for the whole summer, ironing. Grr. I start work again on Thursday.

4) Tried to buy books and shoes online today. The books I want are no longer sold new, and the second-hand sellers are asking for more than 10 times the price!!! Forget it. The shoes were fabulous, and I was all ready to whip out my credit card when I discovered that they dont deliver outside the US.

5) Sang at church yesterday. Made 3 mistakes, but noone noticed.

6) Lots of sales at the moment due to the summer holidays. Got some of those cute little fountain things, you know, like miniature garden water features that can sit on your desk.

7) Tanya sensei, on loan from San Diego, has finished up teaching karate on Saturday as she has to get back. Turns out she's in the top 3 in the US, and will be in the US Open this year!

8) Wow some people have it tough. Some friends of mine, Shinji and Sue, have some major problems - Sue is pregnant and is sick. Not good.
